Grüner Veltliner "Reid Steinertal"
The Steinertal vineyard is located at the eastern end of the Wachau, and consists of terraces on deep gneiss deposits overlooking the Danube river. The wines from here combine intensity with laser-like precision. This Grüner Veltliner is aged in large old oak before release which adds further depth to the crystalline fruit. It is a wine of exceptional clarity, minerality and elegance; rich and bold with vibrant acidity, and with refreshing aromas of white pepper spice and lychee.
F.X. Pichler
Based in Austria’s most prestigious region, the Wachau, F.X. Pichler are one of the world’s foremost producers of Riesling and Grüner Veltliner. They are truly monumental dry white wines. Franz Xaver (the eponymous F.X.) inherited the estate in 1971, and was instrumental in the rise to prominence of both his family’s winery and the Wachau. His son Lucas (the fifth generation) now makes the wine, but F.X. is still an active presence in the vineyards.
