Pouilly Fumé is the underdog in the Loire Valley compared to Sancerre, but don't let great examples of Sauvignon Blanc - like this one - pass you by. It's a terrific value. Grown on gentle slopes overlooking the Loire and vilified in a combination of concrete and stainless steel, the "Mademoiselle" offers an elegant nose of citrus fruits, minerals and hints of exotic fruits. Subtle and aromatic with lovely concentration. It's medium to full-bodied on the palate with ripe white fruits and a tangy acidity. Yum.

Wine production at this ancient estate can be traced back over 600 years, though it wasn’t until the end of the 19th century that the property started to sell Château de Tracy wines. There are 33 ha of vineyards all with the highest environmental certification. All the vineyards are planted with Sauvignon Blanc and are located on gentle slopes overlooking the Loire with a south-west exposure. The wine is vinified in a mix of 600hl concrete and stainless steel vats and the lees are regularly stirred to add weight and richness to the wines. Though production is not large, Château de Tracy is regulalry found on wine lists of Michelin-starred restaurants throughout France.
