A brilliant and intense ruby red in colour, this is a wine with a heady perfume of black cherries and red summer fruits with notes of pepper and sweet spice. On the palate it is complex and rounded, with a powerful structure supporting the fruit and a lovely freshness on the finish. It is a wine with plenty of character and the potential to age well. Pair this with pork, veal and poultry dishes, as well as big-flavoured cheese. It also pairs with dark chocolate, cigars, contemplative moods and philosophizing among friends.

For over a century, the Pieropan family has revolutionized winemaking in Soave, becoming one of the most acclaimed Italian wine families. The Pieropan legacy began in the late 1800s when visionary winemaker Leonildo Pieropan purchased the historic Palazzo Pallucci in the medieval village of Soave. Today, Leonildo’s great-grandsons - Andrea and Dario - carry on the tradition. While considerably famous for their Soave Classico, the family has expanded its winemaking expertise to encompass the red wines of nearby Valpolicella, most notable with their Amarone “Vigna Garzon” the first organicaly certified wine of its kind.
